Supplement for CMMI Services

CMMI-SVC extends the coverage of the CMMI Product Suite to cover the establishment, management, and delivery of services.  Like every CMMI model, CMMI-SVC is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes (PAs) that can be used to guide improvement across a team, project, division, or an entire organization.  The CMMI-SVC helps to set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.

CMMI-SVC contains 23 process areas: 7 are service specific (including 1 addition), 16 are core process areas and 1 is shared with CMMI-DEV.  The Service specific Process Areas are:

  • Service Delivery
  • Capacity and Availability Management
  • Incident Resolution and Prevention
  • Service System Transition
  • Service Continuity
  • Service System Development (Addition)
  • Strategic Service Management
